A new championship is coming to tracc.eu. Get ready to race around the world in the Continental Circus! Choose a GT3 or GT4 and enjoy a lovely race around 5 continents.
The calendar
We are going global this time! The calendar leads the grid to all the continents that have circuits in Assetto Corsa Competizione.
- Oceanian Round – Mount Panorama
- American Round – Laguna Seca
- Asian Round – Suzuka Circuit
- African Round – Kyalami
- European Endurance Finale – Spa-Francorchamps
These five circuits allow for a diverse calendar. Not only in culture, but also in flow and feel of the circuits!
The Oceanian Round – Mount Panorama
A challenging circuit starts us off. Mount Panorama is nothing if not raising drivers’ blood pressure! It’s a narrow circuit winding across the Australian public mountain roads. The mountain section, additionally, has very little if any runoff. Most of the time, you’ll be enclosed by walls on either side of the circuit! There is no margin for error.
The American Round – Laguna Seca
The second round is hosted on none other than the classic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. This Californian circuit is most famous for one corner, the corkscrew. Going side-by-side through there is madness. So how will the multiclass drivers deal with that challenge?
The Asian Round – Suzuka Circuit
In its third round, the Continental Circus is going to a big, modern venue. Suzuka Circuit is the most famous Japanese motorsports circuit in existence. It has featured Formula One for decades, and the Intercontinental GT Challenge is no stranger to it either. Even international motorcycle racing goes there with the Suzuka 8 hours being hosted every year. A grand circuit allowing for even grander racing.
The African Round – Kyalami
The penultimate round leads the Continental Circus to South Africa with its internationally famous Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. This is another big, open venue that allows for beautiful multiclass racing. Its elevation changes are what really distinguish it from other circuits, where after a climb in the first sector, the drop from the hill towards the end of the lap feels almost like a rollercoaster.
The European Round – Spa-Francorchamps
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is no stranger to GT racing, much less so endurance racing. That’s why this is the endurance round of the championship. The 2.4 hour event means drivers will have a unique challenge to manage their cars over a longer distance. Luckily, Spa-Francorchamps with its 7004m length is big enough to allow for a breather.
The event layout
Each event will have the following sessions lengths.
- 30-minute practice
- 20-minute qualifying
- 60-minute race
- The last round at Spa-Francorchamps has a 2.4h race instead, or 144 minutes
Each event will have a previously announced custom balance of performance, graciously provided by Low Fuel Motorsport.
Each event will also have a practice server available for the week leading up to the event. The practice servers will accurately reflect the weather settings of the upcoming rounds.
Lastly, drivers can participate in teams. These teams, however, can only be made up of one driver in GT3 class and one driver in GT4 class.
Where to sign up?
Signups are available all season long, so you can join in mid-season as well. Wildcard registrations are turned on too, so you can partake in only single rounds as well.
If you want extra data from SimGrid events you have participated on, you can purchase GridPass (affiliate link), which grants you detailed grid rating statistics, driving statistics and performance analysis amongst others.
