Project Motor Racing, Ian Bell and Straight4 Studios’ upcoming sim racing title may be set for a reveal at SimRacing Expo 2025 in Dortmund. This may be the case due to GIANTS Software, the game’s publisher being confirmed as an exhibitor at the German expo, renting a large hall area.
Who is GIANTS Software
For those unfamiliar with it, GIANTS Software is the Swiss publisher and developer of a completely different genre: job simulation games. Since 2014, the company has continuously developed their engine, GIANTS Engine and released the world-famous Farming Simulator series.
This connection between the “Farming Simulator Engine” and “sim racing” led to a few raised eyebrows when it became public knowledge in August of 2024.
GIANTS Software itself will work together with Straght4 Studios to prepare the game engine and handle the publishing of Project Motor Racing.
Now, GIANTS currently publishes only two games. Farming Simulator and Project Motor Racing both inhabit the broader simulation genre. However, since we are talking about the SimRacing Expo here, it’s highly likely that Project Motor Racing will be showcased predominantly.
While at SimRacing Expo 2024, almost all showcasing were directly sim racing related, a few smaller stations allowed for general racing or arcade racing/gaming offers. There was only one small PC tucked away in the corner of some booth running the party game Fall Guys, which seemed to be the only non-racing-related offering.
Project Motor Racing – Still scheduled for 2025?
It would make sense for Project Motor Racing to launch after showing off the state of the game at SimRacing Expo 2025. The game was announced for release in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X and Microsoft Windows.
A massive booth at SimRacing Expo could mean the game to currently be scheduled for release later in the year or early 2026. If we look at last years’ SimRacing Expo, Assetto Corsa EVO was first playable there and later released into public Early Access in January of 2025.
Project Motor Racing keeps announcing new content regularly in the “News” section on its website. Most recently, the 2004 Saleen S7-R was confirmed to appear.
What can we expect from the booth?
On the SimRacing Expo 2025 hall plan, the booth that GIANTS booked looks to be huge. Should the interactive website display be to scale, the GIANTS Software booth could be the biggest single booth at the entire expo, only to be toppled by the food court.

The booth will most likely have a good number of sim rigs allowing for visitors to try out Project Motor Racing. A comparatively big booth in 2024 was the Hyundai Esports booth which had a grand total of 10 sim rigs, 5 of which were designated for Assetto Corsa EVO.
It’s feasible that 10 sim rigs could be laid out to try the game. But what content could be tried out?
So far, the only circuit that has been confirmed for Project Motor Racing is Lime Rock Park. A classic but rather simple circuit and this would most likely be possible to try out. Further circuits are likely to be announced until October, when then Expo is scheduled.
In terms of cars, a bunch of classic racing cars known from Ian Bell’s original GTR games have been announced. As mentioned before, the Saleen S7-R has recently been confirmed. Previously, the Lister Storm GT with it’s 7-litre Jaguar V12 engine. Further cars are bound to be added to this minute roster of classic GT cars. Looking at the 2004 FIA GT season, a few classics like the Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT, Ferrari 550, Ferrari 575, Chrysler Viper GTS-R or Maserati MC12 GT1 could still be on its way along different GT cars from the same era.
